This is good information. Yes, the publishing industry is morphing, and nobody knows what it’s going to turn into. I can’t help but point out – this says 56% of self-published authors make about $11k annually on their books. Only 40 authors “make it”, selling over a million copies in 5 years. If they’re pricing their ebooks at $2.99 or above…that’s $2 million or more in 5 years. $400, 000 a year. 40 authors…that’s gotta be way less than even 1%. So…almost 44% of self-published authors make anywhere between $11k and $400k annually selling their books. Is that really “not making it”? Food for thought, and it’s nice to see how things are changing finally. Everyone deserves to put their fantastic books out there, one way or another.
